    Farm Animal Welfare Education Center

    The Farm Animal Welfare Education Center (FAWEC) started-up at the School of Veterinary Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) to provide services to professionals and companies from the livestock sector.

    FAWEC aims to:

    • Advise farmers and companies from the livestock sector on strategies to improve the welfare of farm animals.
    • Train veterinarians, farmers and other professionals from the livestock sector on animal behaviour and welfare.
    • Carry out applied research and innovations in the field of animal behavior and welfare.

    FAWEC, together with CAWEC and ZAWEC, is part of the AWEC (Animal Welfare Education Center), which brings together veterinarians and other professionals with recognized experience in the field of animal welfare, both for livestock animals, companion animals and zoo animals.
